Each small update is up to 30 minutes of work on existing content, such as refreshing your hours, swapping a photo, or editing a short piece of text. Monthly checks cover whether your site loads and its main contact links work.
Care timing, billing, and cancellation
You receive an email reply within 1 business day. Routine updates are normally completed within 3 business days after I have your complete request and materials. Business days are Monday–Friday, Eastern Time, excluding U.S. federal holidays.
Plans are paid manually in advance for each agreed monthly service period; there are no automatic charges. An unpaid renewal pauses service until we agree a new start date. Unused updates expire at the end of that period and do not roll over. If I delay a complete request accepted during your paid period, I will finish it without using the next period’s allowance. Email MJ before the next period to cancel; service continues through the period already paid for. If I cannot deliver the agreed Care service, I refund the undelivered portion.
If a request needs more than 30 minutes or changes the site’s structure, I will quote it separately for your approval before starting. Care does not include continuous monitoring, backups, guaranteed uptime, or emergency recovery.
Care is separate from the $350 starter build. Domain, hosting, business email, and third-party fees remain separate. New pages, redesigns, major changes, ongoing SEO, and urgent recovery work are quoted separately.

Is the mockup really free?
Yes. For projects that fit the starter scope, I provide one free concept and one consolidated refinement within that scope. There is no obligation to buy. The paid build is scheduled only after you approve the direction, scope, and $350 price.
When is payment due?
No payment is required to request or review your mockup. Any legally applicable tax is identified before approval. After you approve the mockup and written scope, I send the $350 invoice. Payment must be confirmed before the scheduled build begins. Payment instructions are provided with your invoice.
When does the one-day clock start?
We agree a scheduled business day after your mockup and scope are approved, all required materials are received, and payment is confirmed. Your first working preview is ready by the end of that day. Public launch follows your approval and domain/platform readiness. Business days are Monday–Friday, Eastern Time, excluding U.S. federal holidays.
What is included in the $350 starter website?
One page with up to five content sections, including the hero and contact section, using one approved design. It includes mobile-friendly structure, organization of your supplied copy and assets, visual styling, contact links, page title and meta description, and the post-launch touchup below. Navigation and footer are part of the page structure.
What is not included?
The starter build does not include complex booking systems, e-commerce, custom apps, advanced SEO campaigns, copy-heavy multi-page websites, paid ads, logo design, professional photography, hosting fees, domain fees, or unlimited revisions.
Are domain, hosting, and email included?
No. Domain registration, hosting, business email, and third-party platform fees are paid separately by the client. I can help you choose a simple setup, but those recurring costs are not included in the $350 build.
How many revisions are included?
The free mockup includes one consolidated refinement within scope. After launch, one consolidated bundle of small text, typo, image, or spacing changes is included, up to 30 minutes of work, if requested within 14 calendar days. New content, features, sections, major rewrites, and redesigns are quoted for approval first.
What do I need to send you?
Send your business name, services and service area, hours, contact details, approved text, any images you want used, existing links, and the main action visitors should take. A logo and brand colors are optional. Only send assets you have permission to use; any access needed for launch is arranged securely, not through the public request form.

What if the project is cancelled?
Cancel before paid work begins for a full refund. Once work has started, I itemize completed work within the agreed scope and refund the unused balance; the total charge never exceeds the agreed price. If I cannot deliver, I refund the undelivered portion. Email MJ to request cancellation.
How do I keep my website online after it is built?
A website usually has a few separate pieces that keep it online: the domain name, the hosting, and optional business email. Those accounts should stay in the client’s name with the client’s own payment method, so the client owns and controls the website address and recurring bills.
What if I need changes after the included touchup?
Additional changes can be quoted separately. Small updates may also fit into an optional website care plan. Larger changes, new sections, redesigns, new pages, advanced SEO, marketing campaigns, or urgent support are not included in the original $350 build.
Do you offer monthly website support?
Yes. Day One Website Care offers $30, $45, and $75 monthly plans with 1, 2, or 4 small updates respectively. Each update covers up to 30 minutes on existing content. All plans include monthly site/contact-link checks and a reply within 1 business day. See Care terms for turnaround, billing, and cancellation.
Is SEO included?
Basic starter SEO is included. That means page title, meta description, clean headings, mobile-friendly structure, fast-loading static page setup, local service wording, and a clear contact path.
Is ongoing SEO included?
No. Ongoing SEO is separate. Ranking tracking, content strategy, backlink work, Google algorithm monitoring, monthly reports, and continued optimization are not included in the $350 starter build.
Will this website get traffic by itself?
A website gives you a clear place to send people and a way for visitors to understand your work and contact you. It does not automatically generate traffic, customers, search rankings, or bookings. None of those outcomes is guaranteed.
What if I need more than a starter website?
Ask Day One Web Studio for a separate assessment and quote. Additional website work is accepted only after we agree the scope, price, and timing. Marketing campaigns, ongoing SEO, and traffic growth are not part of the starter build or Website Care.
Do I need to have all my photos, logo, and colors ready?
No, but it helps. If you do not have professional photos, a logo, or brand colors yet, I can still build a clean starter website using simple styling, strong layout, and the information you provide. Professional branding, logo design, and photography are not included in the $350 starter build.
Can you write the website copy for me?
I can organize and polish starter website copy based on the information you send. The better your answers are, the stronger the website will be. Full brand messaging, long-form copywriting, heavy rewriting, or multi-page content strategy may require a separate quote.
What if I do not know what should go on the website?
That is normal. The free mockup process is designed to help clarify the structure, tone, and visitor path. I will use your business type, services, service area, and main contact goal to shape a simple first direction.
Can you connect booking, payment, or intake tools?
Links to your existing booking, payment, or intake tools can be included. Setting up those tools, taking payments on the site, custom forms, automations, and client portals require a separate assessment and quote through Day One Web Studio.
Can you update my existing website instead of building a new one?
Maybe. Day One is mainly designed for focused starter websites. If your current website is simple and accessible, I may be able to improve it. If it is complex, outdated, broken, locked behind a platform, or built with tools I cannot reasonably access, the better option may be a fresh starter build.
What platforms do you build on?
Day One projects are kept simple and lightweight. The exact setup depends on the client’s needs, budget, and technical comfort. If a specific platform, hosting provider, or website builder is required, that may affect scope, timeline, and pricing.
Will my website work on phones?
Yes. The starter website is built with mobile-friendly structure in mind because many local customers search and contact businesses from their phones. The core site should be clear and usable on common screen sizes.
Will you add analytics?
Basic analytics or tracking setup can be discussed, but it may depend on the platform and client accounts. Advanced tracking, ad pixels, conversion dashboards, call tracking, or monthly reporting are not included in the $350 starter build unless quoted separately.
What happens if something goes wrong after launch?
Report a defect against the approved build scope within 30 calendar days of launch and I will correct it at no added fee. Content changes use the included touchup or a separate quote. Hosting or platform faults, third-party outages, hacked accounts, and urgent recovery are outside that correction promise and need separate assessment.
Do you work with every type of business?
No. Day One is best for straightforward local service businesses. I may decline projects involving unclear offers, deceptive claims, illegal services, adult content, high-risk financial promises, medical claims that require special compliance review, or businesses that need a more complex website than this service is designed to provide.
Who is this best for?
Day One is best for local service businesses that need a clean, legitimate starter website fast — especially businesses that currently have no website, an outdated page, or a confusing contact path.
Do we need to meet in person?
No. This can be handled remotely. You can send your details, review the mockup, approve the direction, and pay remotely.
Why not just use social media?
Social profiles are useful, but they are not the same as owning a clear home base. A website gives people one stable place to understand who you are, what you offer, how to trust you, and how to contact you.
Can I use the website as an example in your portfolio?
I may ask for permission to show the finished website or a screenshot as an example of my work. If you do not want your project shown publicly, tell me before launch.
